BBWS is engaged in providing quality health care services to the underprivileged section of the people in the rural areas and in the city slums free of charges. The Society's programmes on health care for the rural tribal people in Jhargram - especially for the Physically Impaired Persons, needs enhancement of the existing service set-up of the Orthopaedic Hospital and Rehabilitation Unit in Jhargram, Midnapore West in West Bengal. The medial set-up is one of its kind in the entire Midnapore and adjoining districts and cateres to a large number of patients coming from adjoining East Singbum district (Jharkhand) and Mayurbhanj district (Orissa). This necessity of the proposed Occupational Therapy and Mid-way Home set-up is being felt in view of the growing number and complexity of the disability category being attended to at present.

Over the last few years our Orthopaedic Hospital and Rehabilitation Department in Jhargram is registering increased number of poor rural Children with Cerbral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Adults with other related ailments. For effective treatment and rehabilitation of these Children and Adults, setting up of an Occupational Therapy Unit and Mid-way Home Structure is found of immediate necessity. The requisite infrastructure - which include the cost of the building and machineries for the set-up is estimated at around Rupees 10 lacs. The proposed set-up is expected to benefit around 200 poor patients monthly.

BBWS in its pursuit of development of the Occupational Therapy & Mid-way Home set-up for these poor rural tribal patients, and the constraints of fund-crunch faced by the Society,  makes the humble Appeal to the benevolent Individuals, Business & Corporate Houses and National and International Agencies to donate generously for the " Fund to set-up the Occupational Therapy & Mid-way Home Units in Jhargram ".
